Position Summary

Prenosis is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data systems that power cutting-edge innovation in acute care. In this role, you will collaborate with the lead data engineer to enhance and scale our data systems, developing robust pipelines that transform complex healthcare data into high-quality, usable formats suitable for research and product development.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing and develop new data pipelines using Python and SQL to support evolving data needs

  • Maintain and improve internal R packages and data monitoring tools

  • Collaborate with data scientists to deliver clean, well-structured data for data science use-cases

  • Implement data quality, reliability, and reproducibility best practices across a variety of data pipelines and data processing tools

Expected frequency and duration of travel: 10%

Job requirements

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, and SQL

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience

  • Strong understanding of data modeling and ETL concepts

  • Experience building and maintaining data infrastructure in cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS)

Preferred:

  • Experience working with clinical / Electronic Medical Record data

  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR and HL7

  • Familiarity with healthcare data standardization, including common data models and clinical vocabularies
