Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Cloud Engineer to spearhead the development and management of our cloud-based application infrastructure and data pipelines. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies and foundational knowledge of security principles and best practices. The ideal candidate will have built, operated and secured SaaS application clusters and cloud environments.

Responsibilities:
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure on AWS
Oversee the secure configuration, management and deployment of cloud services including EC2 instances, VPCs, Databases, Kubernetes and more.
Champion the development and maintenance of scalable and robust data pipelines with emphasis on data security and privacy
Implement controls for compliance with security frameworks such as SOC2 and HIPAA
Develop and implement automation solutions to ensure efficient, reliable, and secure infrastructure management
Proactively identify and implement security improvements to optimize cloud security posture
Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud technologies, security threats, and best practices, and share knowledge with the team
Collaborate closely with our data science, laboratory science and engineering teams to ensure smooth, secure integration and operation
Develop and maintain documentation for the cloud environment and data pipelines
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience as a cloud engineer or related role
Minimum 3 years of experience in a lead or senior cloud engineering role
Extensive experience with AWS or other major cloud platform
Extensive experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools
Experience with healthcare technologies and data standards such as HL7 or FHIR a strong plus
Experience in healthcare, biotech, laboratory science or clinical research as strong plus
Understanding of cyber security best practices, and relevant US compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST)
Programming skills in Python, SQL or another relevant language\
